What to Teach Boys

Thinking about all the dumb, dated, unhelpful shit we teach boys:

-Walk it off

-Crying is for girls

-To succeed, work harder

-Men get angry, not sad

-Real men have a lot of sex and don't get attached

-Successful men make a lot of money

-Asking for help makes you weak

-Ignore past hurt and close your heart to avoid pain

-That using alcohol, drugs, porn, or a lot of work to avoid, dull, or numb out is fine

-That you must avoid or fight what scares you

I don't know about you, but some of this messed me up. It didn't help me become the best man I could be. It created a life of stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, fear, tension, and unhappiness.

Since untangling and releasing all this bullshit, I have personally,

-Made the most money I've ever made!

-Made more money in a day than I used to make in a year!

-But the best part about the money is I seem to make more the less "hard" I work - There are so many other ways to succeed than "hard" work

-Created the best relationship of my life that feels fun, easy, and inspiring

-Bought a house a mile from the beach in San Diego, CA (people say this is impossible)

-Bought a Tricked out Lifted Golf Cart because I want my life to feel like a vacation

-Travel whenever I want

-Work when I want and take time off when I want

-Have the most amazing supportive, fun, deep, intellectual, and wild friends

-Live a life mostly free of stress, anxiety, and fear!

-Am the happiest I've ever been, and every day seems to be better than the day before

If I ever have a son, I don't want him to learn all that shit I learned. I want him to be free of all that conditioning. And for all the men I interact with, coach, know, and connect with, I want this for you too! I'm not special. If I can untangle it and change it, you can too!
